The Accommodation
We have 2 identical brand new apartments next door to each other. Each apartment has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge and fully equipped kitchen, English TV channels, DVD player. One balcony overlooks the large communal pool and the second balcony overlooks a basketball court that can be used for football aswell. It is equipped with air conditioning and heating for year round use. This luxury apartment is suitable for families or 2 couples who would like a relaxing holiday. Cabanas has many reasonably priced restaurants serving good quality food. The apartment is near the stunning Cabanas beach, several top golf courses and only 30 minutes from Faro airport. Cabanas is in a protected nature reserve, called the Ria Formosa which makes it excellent for walking, bird watching, swimming, cycling and fishing. Cabanas is 4km from Tavira, one of the most architecturally attractive towns in the Algarve.
The Algarve Region
The Algarve offers beautiful sandy beaches, excellent golf courses and a friendly ambience. On holiday in the Algarve, you'll discover dramatic cliffs which give way to deep green pine forests leading down to secluded coves and small fishing villages of white-washed houses. The area is awash with vibrant colours from tropical flowers to mosaic streets reflecting the Moorish and Roman influences, all waiting to be explored on your Algarve holiday. With hot summers and mild winters, enjoy a holiday to the Algarve at any time of the year. Holidays to the Algarve are ideal for couples and families. The eastern coast of the Algarve offers idyllic deserted beaches and ancient towns with narrow cobbled streets and craft markets.
Cabanas
Cabanas is a quaint, tranquil village in the Eastern Algarve. There are many good restaurants and cafe bars in Cabanas along with enchanting little shops and a large supermarket. Cabanas beach is a beautiful naturally formed island separated from the mainland by the River Formosa. You can enjoy a two minute boat ride to this beach, which has 3km of amazing white sand. The apartment is a 10 min walk to the shops, bars, cafes and beach. There is a small tourist office in the village where you can book coach trips to nearby water parks or Seville. There is a local train station, and bus service operating in Cabanas, this goes to all of the local towns, Tavira, Faro, Castro Marim and Villa Real de San Antiono.
The Surrounding Area
The nearest airport to Cabanas is Faro and it is approximately a 30 minute drive. Taxis and car hire are available from the airport. We can also arrange airport transfers. A 30 minute drive will take you across the Spanish border. Car hire is not essential if you just want a relaxing holiday but recommended if you wish to explore the Algarve more fully or venture into Spain. The motorway IP1/A22 now runs the length of the Algarve making the Western Algarve very convenient to explore.
Tavira is the nearest town and is only 5 minutes by taxi. This lovely historical town is known as ‘the little Venice of Portugal’.
Golf
For the passionate golfer, there are five superb golf courses, reputed to be amongst some of the best in Europe - all within a 35 km radius. The closest Benamor, only a 10 min walk from the apartment, is a par 71 course and enjoys splendid views of the hills and coastline.
